Request: "Loop Audio" shortcut/toggle for single cards during review

Hi everyone,

I need a way to loop audio automatically, but only for specific cards on demand while reviewing. Pressing “R” repeatedly is tedious, and changing global card templates affects my entire deck.

Suggestion: Add a “Loop Audio” shortcut or button to the review screen that loops the current card’s audio endlessly until turned off or advanced.

Question: Is there an existing desktop add-on that already does this without editing templates? (I’ve searched it before but they are all not supporting the updated version anymore)

Thank you!

There’s no reason why it would need to. If you know you have notes where you want to do this, perhaps those should use a different note type.

But also – even with my limited knowledge of JS, it seems possible there would be a simple script you could add to your card templates and activate with a keypress to turn on repeatedly looping the audio, just for the card currently on the screen. For such a niche feature, that seems like a sensible way to handle this.

I’ll try to use the speed-changing addon https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/312734862 to create something…or rather, to finish it, since I have the basics, but it’s simple.
I’ve seen some cool sound addons, I’ll find them now.

I tested this one,

but it doesn’t work for me right now :frowning:
