Put AnkiMobile's typing area inside webview

A few days ago I asked why a built-in IME didn’t work on AnkiMobile. Apparently Javascript can’t reach the typing area because it’s put at the top of the screen. Can an option in settings be added that implements the typing area somewhere that Javascript can reach? Even if the typing area is placed somewhere else on the screen, I’d still appreciate it. Sorry for making a big deal about the IME, I won’t post about it anymore after this.

IME works on desktop, not on iphone

AnkiMobile’s typing area is currently implemented outside of the webview, so it can be placed at the top of the screen, away from the on-screen keyboard. I’m afraid this means JS can’t alter its behaviour, so you’ll either need to use iOS’s Japanese keyboard, or use the ‘never type answer’ option in the preferences to disable typing on mobile.

The typing area will likely be moved into the webview in the future, but I’m afraid I don’t have an ETA for you.
