To make a very long story short: I have noticed that within ~50 reviews (or roughly ~7 minutes) that the loading time increases significantly between reviews. When I initially complete reviews, cards load instantaneously (<0.5 s). When they’re lagging, it can take up to 10 seconds for a card to load. This only began roughly a month ago. I’ve never encountered this issue before.
The problem only resolves if I close and re-open the desktop program. I noticed that I do not encounter this issue on the website version. However, the “lag” returns within a few minutes.
What I’ve done so far, but still no fix:
- Re-installed 2.1.35 twice
- Installed 2.1.37
- Opened Anki in Safe Mode (+Shift) and disabled Add-ons (both versions)
- Changed firewall settings through McAfee to permit unrestricted internet access
- Uninstalled McAfee (also disabled Windows Defender)
My laptop isn’t particularly ancient. I have an i7 processor @1.3 GHz with 16.0 GB RAM. If you guys have any advice, I would be ultra grateful! I’m preparing for a 3 month study bender for a board exam, so I need anki to be tip-top.
