Progress loss due to synchronization

I studied cards on both mobile phone and the laptop. And I sync when I open the app, and when I close/leave the app, on every device, every time. However, some card progress is stuck. For example, let’s say I have a learning step of 5m 3h and the graduate interval is 2d. I chose good twice on my phone and the final interval is 3d. But after I synced it from phone to the laptop, and when I began studying on the laptop, the card emerged again and it was totally like a new card that I have never studied.

Thank you guys. Hope I made myself plain.

That’s what I like to hear! :clap:t4: Are you are really, really strict about it, and there’s no chance that you edited this card on one device around the same time you studied it on the other one? If so, that’s not your issue here.

Looking at some other possibilities –

  1. Have you changed your learning steps recently?
  2. Do you have any add-ons that impact the cards when you sync or when you study (like rescheduling, ease changes, etc.)?
  3. Which add-ons are you using in this screenshot? Do you see the same thing if you display the built-in Card Info?
  4. [Is it safe to assume that 6:53am on the 21st is in the past for you? I’m asking because it’s still in the future for me.]
  5. Have you run Tools > Check Database recently?
  6. When you reply, paste what you get from Help > About > Copy debug info.

Thank you for your sincere and kind reply!

I remember I synced on the laptop last night after studying. Then I synced on the phone before studying and realised there were so many cards I had chosen good button but acted like a new card. I have had similar issues since 3 days ago after deciding to studying both on the laptop and phone by syncing frequently. I searched how to syncing properly on the forum and endeavoured to follow what they said. Maybe I lapsed to make appropriate and prompt synchronization.

in terms of your possibilities:

  1. I indeed changed my learning steps accidentally yesterday. Maybe that is one of the reasons.
  2. speed focus mode. I displayed the Card Info when I took the screenshot on the laptop.
  3. maybe. we are in the different time zone.
  4. no idea about the function of checking database because it will take a long time.
  5. And here is what I get from help>About>Copy debug info.

Thank you for your effort.

If you attempt to reproduce the problem by reviewing a card on the computer, syncing computer first and then phone, are you able to reproduce the problem? If not, and you find it happens again, please see if you can notice the steps you’re taking that seems to cause it to happen.
