When doing a preview or studying my flash cards, the back of basic flashcards do not show up. My cloze and image occlusion cards work just fine and when I go to edit the basic card, the back of the text is still there it just doesn’t show up when I’m studying them or previewing them. I have tried changing the video driver, restarting anki and my mac but it still doesn’t work.
Have you checked formatting in your templates/styling (and in the underlying notes)? Is it a text/background color issue?
