Pasting images from clipboard super slow recently

Searched for this but could not find anyone else with this issue:

Noticing that today (2024-03-23), pasting images from my clipboard takes super long (10+ seconds even for small images) and freezes Anki during that time. I paste a lot of images, and this was not the case before.

I suspected FSRS Helper since that was the only recent update I had (today as well) but when I started Anki with deactivated add-ons (holding down shift), that problem persisted.

It’s a bit weird since I have no idea where that comes from and about one 1 out of 5 pasted images gets pasted quickly — even the exact same image can be slow one time, and quick another.

Does anyone else have the same problem?

I can’t figure how FSRS Helper alone could be the issue, since it isn’t doing anything while you’re editing Notes. But there’s always the chance it’s a conflict between multiple add-ons.

I would suspect it’s something on your computer, outside of Anki, but regardless, the steps in the Troubleshooting checklist should help you work that out – Troubleshooting - Anki Manual.

If you’re pasting image links that Anki has to download, maybe the website is being slow. Another thing you could check is if you’re using any third-party tools that interact with the clipboard, like a clipboard manager.

Thanks for the help. I haven’t experienced the issue today, so I’m shifting the blame on the internet connection or something non-persistent. Sorry for the potentially false alarm, it seemed possible since the issue appeared right after updating the FSRS helper, but I don’t think that was it.
