?? Does the login on the mobile app have to be exactly the same email and pass as the desktop/web?
My web pass will not work on the iphone app.
Wading through the one zillion pages of info has not yielded the answer.
p.s. I can Sync AnkiApp Desktop to the AnkiWebb page just fine.
Yes, it’s the same account across desktop, AnkiWeb, and AnkiMobile.
Are you sure you downloaded the right app onto your iPhone? There are some copycat apps out there that sound similar to Anki, but are actually published by other companies (and misleadingly named to confuse users). This is the right one: AnkiMobile.

If you paid for the copycat app / paid for a subscription to it, you should be able to request a refund via the app store: How to get a refund for iTunes or App Store purchases | iMore
If you have the time, leaving a rating on these types of copycat apps is also a super helpful way to warn other users about them.
