Hello Anki Support, My AnkiWeb collection was visible with all decks until [7/26/26]. Today, I installed Anki on a new laptop and logged in; the local collection was nearly empty. After syncing, my AnkiWeb collection appears to have been overwritten and now only shows the new/empty data.Could you please check server-side backups or the deletion log for my account and restore my previous collection?
• AnkiWeb login email: [drshaziashafqat@yahoo.co.uk]
• Anki Desktop version: 25.09.5 (217701ba)
• Last known good date/time on AnkiWeb: [7/27/26 at 8.00am CST ]
• Overwrite occurred: [8:00 am CST]
• I am also requesting my old device’s “Anki2” data folder from IT, but I don’t yet have it.
If a restore is possible, please advise next steps. Thank you very much for your help.

You can’t use sync to merge that local “nearly empty” collection with your AnkiWeb collection. You need to preserve your local collection first – then set up syncing, receive a one-way sync download from AnkiWeb, and import your local collection to merge them together. See Syncing with AnkiWeb - Anki Manual .
If the collection on your old device was up-to-date – that’s the best way for you to recover everything you lost. [Let me know if you need more specific instructions about that.]
If it wasn’t up-to-date, or you can’t get it back – the most recent AnkiWeb server-side backup for this account was created last week – on/at [click for timestamp in your local time zone] . If you want me to restore that version of your collection to your account –
- Preserve your local collection as described above (and at the link).
- Confirm that you’ve done that and you want me to proceed with restoring.
