Nativ Image Occlusion: Mask changes won't save

Often, when I edit masks (e.g., size or positioning), the changes aren’t saved and are immediately lost when I navigate to the next card or note.

This behavior is inconsistent, and I haven’t been able to identify what triggers it or how to reliably avoid it. I’ve tried several things - switching between Cards and Notes view, toggling between the mask editor and card fields, restarting the browser, running a search, etc. - but none consistently resolve the issue.

One indicator that mask changes won’t be saved is when the preview window doesn’t reflect the edits.

  1. Try #2 (safe mode), 4 (Check Database), 5 (restart device), and 7 (window sizes) on the Troubleshooting Checklist. [It sounds like you’ve already done #1. I’m holding off on #3 to see if we can figure out what’s wrong.]

  2. Go to Help/Anki > About – click “Copy Debug Info” – paste that entire result here when you respond.

  3. It’s also possible that your note type is internally “broken.” You can add a fresh version of the note type – Manage Note Types > Add > "Add: Image Occlusion" – and see if that works any better for you. If it does, you can change your notes to use that type and delete the broken one.

Known issue that’s related to [BUG] Scaling multiple masks in IO fails to save - Anki / Help - Anki Forums (that i found hard to solve without big changes, but this sub-issue should be simple)

For now the workaround is to move/edit a single mask after having edited a group or a selection of multiple masks to trigger a save
