Can't create very small masks with Image Occlusion in Anki

Whenever I try to create very small masks in the built-in Image Occlusion, they disappear as soon as I create them. Normal-sized masks work without any issues.

I also tried creating a slightly larger mask first and then resizing it smaller. The mask appears in the editor, but no card is created for it after saving.

Has anyone experienced this? Is there any workaround?

Exactly when do the masks disappear? Do they disappear in the editor immediately after you click and drag to create the mask? Or, does the mask appear in the editor but then it disappears from the note after it is saved/added?

Exactly how small are the “very small” masks you are trying to create?

I don’t think I am able to reproduce the issue on Mac desktop Anki 26.08b1 using either the experimental Svelte or legacy editors. But, I’m not sure.

There does seem to be a threshold where very-very small rectangle and circle masks don’t get created in the editor. That is, in the editor when clicking and dragging a very small distance (perhaps less than 5 pixels?), no mask is seen to be created. However, I am able to create slightly-larger, very small rectangle and circle masks just fine.

Edit: Added: I was able to create the IO masks in this screenshot. (Red arrows added afterward, pointing at the masks.)

The mask disappears immediately if I try to create it at that small size.

If I make a larger mask first and then resize it down to the same size, it stays visible in the editor. But after I save/add the note, that mask disappears and no card is created for it.
