My anki wont close after error

hello, I am having trouble closing my Anki, after an error page prevents it from doing so. whenever I try quitting or leaving Anki, the error pops up which also prevents me from logging out from my mac, preventing me from downloading the desktop.
the error is below

Be patient. An add-on is doing something in the background. Let it finish whatever it’s doing, and then try Quit (or closing Anki’s window) again.

Did you try the suggested Tools > Check Database menu item?

I recommend updating to the latest version and seeing if that fixes the problem.
