so as you can see by this image the card got back to the begining as if i was pressing again. but i didnt.. i just modified the leaning steps to make it better for me.. (i know its not how most people use anki but this is how i want it)..
i changed it from
5s 1m 6m 15m 5h 1d 15m 2d 3d 5d 7d 10d 13d 17d 22d 28d 35d 42d 60d 85d 100d 120d 150d 180d
Perhaps a developer will appear, but as far as I remember when I was delving into it myself, they remember somewhere the number of steps to the end.
In the first case, you have:
5s 1m 6m 15m 5h 1d 15m 2d 3d 5d 7d 10d 13d 17d 22d 28d 35d 42d 60d 85d 100d 120d 150d 180d
In the second case, you have 1 point more:
5s 1m 6m 3h 1d 2m 15m 2d 3d 5d 7d 10d 13d 17d 22d 28d 3m 35d 42d 60d 85d 100d 120d 150d 180d
Now, according to the old list, you should have (9 from the end):
28d 35d 42d 60d 85d 100d 120d 150d 180d
and now:
3m 35d 42d 60d 85d 100d 120d 150d 180d
We should probably level out the lists by length, maybe remove 180d for now since it’s still very far away – a full two years from that point.
Well, I wouldn’t do such long tutorials, they show up in an annoying red color, and knowledge is acquired in a shorter period of time – probably a month at most, and then there should be repetitions, fortunately, Anki has special algorithms for this.
One list has 24 steps, the other has 25.
I said to make them the same, meaning the number would be the same as before, namely 24. To achieve this, only one step needs to be removed from the new ones.
I ran a test on a list of 3, 4, and 6 elements, varying the length and decreasing the time. It seems to work fine in order.
What version of Anka are you using? Do you make copies, especially manual ones, to save your statistics?
It would also be good to check with the developers to see if they’ve changed anything. But I think if you’d gone through those 3 minutes, the algorithm would have started working normally on your new list.
thanks for the dedication.
it used to be Anki 2.1.66 while changing. but someone on reddit said that this problem was fixed in later versions so now i updated to 25.07..
You should have included a link to the original thread, to avoid anyone needing to repeat the same (extensive) discussion here. Reddit - The heart of the internet
Copy your deck. Leave at least five recordings there for testing. Share it publicly, preserving the deck’s playthrough statistics, your deck settings, and so on. Then people can see what’s in these recordings and what’s happening.
Do you have FSRS enabled? Although, you said that was the case with older versions too.
fsrs wasnt enable, but because all my schedule is messed up and I was wasting so many days and got lazy I wanted to give it a chance, so i only did the 5s 1m 6m 3h 1d 2m 15m, but it doesnt work after the 1st day.. it takes freedom to give me his own intervals.. and i want my freedom at least for the begining but it still doesnt work
I offered to share the deck so you could test it, but you don’t want to.
Well, if you showed me what’s going on, maybe it’ll become clear.
In the attached video, I create three recordings with the settings you want and save them under a specific name. I remove the 20-minute lead time limit to show that everything works as expected. I turn off the internet and allow users to set the time themselves. So, I simply change the time and check what it shows and what the intervals are.
I don’t see any errors in the program’s logic. But there could be many combinations. For example, you’re showing repeated cards first instead of new ones. I showed you something in the settings, if anything. In general, I’m a proponent of studying new material separately, and repeats separately. You can repeat after sleep, you can repeat before sleep, but you should study new material only when you’re well-awake and at your most productive, which is either in the morning… but then there’s work, which means after a good rest in the evening. You can separate new items from recurring ones using filters or some other method. In the settings, you can show new items first, or if you have time, set up recurring ones, and then pause when you’re freer and your memory is clearer.
Try it out and describe it well so it’s clear what’s not working for you.
yeah i dont understand why it doesnt work for me, the same for you..how do i share it to you? can you make quick video you got to work me out.. thanksss
You could have recorded this on your smartphone and uploaded it to Google Drive or somewhere else, even your YouTube channel. People would have seen it and said something was wrong.
But first, you need to: launch your program while holding Shift. This will disable all add-ons, as they can sometimes interfere. I think it’s a good idea to install the latest version to be sure you’re not dependent on anything. Create a new profile, create a new deck in it, and try it there.
Of course, you can log in remotely, but that only requires a computer and some desktop sharing tool…previously, it was Skype…now I don’t even know what it is, but there’s also a software method. If you want to take a personal look, just send an email to andreykaiu@gmail.com. We’ll discuss it there, since this isn’t part of the forum.
