I recently needed to replace the motherboard in my macbook air (which previously had anki installed without any problems). the software update of my macbook is monterey version 12.7.6. when i tried installing the latest anki it would not open properly so i assumed i needed an older version. could you please advise on the possible versions of anki that would be compatible with my macbook as well as the steps to install it?
You can install the 25.09 launcher and use it to install Anki 25.09.4, the last version that supported macOS Monterey 12.
The launcher will open a Terminal window with a text menu. Use text menu option to select a specific version (because you don’t want to install the “latest” version). In the text menu, choose version 25.09.4 to be installed. The installation process can then take up to 10-20 minutes as the launcher downloads and installs the individual Anki components.
