Installing Anki 25.09 on macbook

Hi,

Last night I opened anki on my Macbook ventura 13.2.1 after not using the app for a while and a messages popped up saying I should upgrade. I downloaded the new version 25.09 and deleted the old version. I followed the instructions and added the anki app to my applications folder. When I then went to open the app this message pops up: “launcher” can’t be opened because (null) is not allowed to open documents in Terminal. I have restarted my laptop several times but always have the same problem. An older version seems to download fine but I can’t access my cards because I have not downgraded them which I am unsure how to do if I now have no functioning app with access to my cards. I don’t know what the problem is or how to solve it so would really appreciate some help - thank you!

You should be able to access your collection just fine on the version you already had installed. The only thing you’ve done is download the launcher program, so your existing version should still be intact.

See recent posts about launcher issues – especially on macOS.
