Issues with swiping in the deck options

In the deck options, if you tap on “New cards/day” for example, a pop-up appears with some explanations. You can swipe left or right to go to other terms.

Here are some issues with this feature:

  1. If you tap on a term in the pop-up, it will highlight it, but swiping doesn’t move the highlight.
  2. In rtl languages, the animation is reversed (if you swipe left to right, the text moves right to left).
  3. Swiping from some terms shows an empty “explanation”.

  • Is this happening in desktop Anki, or one of the mobile apps (and if so, which one)?
  • Your link goes to a 404 error. I’m not sure what you meant to post there.
  • On AnkiDroid. I tested it on Anki Desktop and it’s the same behavior (except that there’s no swiping so I just clicked on the terms).
  • I added a streamable link.

The video doesn’t play for me.

Streamable videos go down after 2 days. I added a drive link. I should’ve done that earlier!

Thanks, I’ve logged it on Issues with swiping in the deck options help screen · Issue #4185 · ankitects/anki · GitHub. Please keep the Drive link up until someone has a chance to visit the issue.

This is due to SM-2/FSRS. If you have FSRS turned on, it tries to access a tooltip only relevant in SM2, and so it becomes it empty.

I didn’t report it because I thought once SM2 is gone (which I didn’t think would take this long) it’ll get solved automatically.
