I have encountered the following issue: even when I combine the text and the cloze deletion in the native cloze card type (see the first image), the text remains visible after revealing the answer (see the second image).
Is there a way to fix this so that the text is correctly hidden until the answer is revealed?

Is it cloze or Image Occlusion?
I don’t think what you’re describing is a bug. It’s more like a feature.
It is the nativ Anki Image Occlusion Note type. I think - but I have no serious understanding of the topic - the IO type has the same or at least a related coding structure as the cloze type.
Maybe I didn’t make the point clear: I can group the text and the occlusion but then at the answer side only the occlusion will disappear - the text stays.
That is clearer, thank you. I think that’s expected behavior. IO text boxes are for labelling things on your image, but they are not themselves “masks,” and in fact, they can be covered with masks. Adding/Editing - Anki Manual
Mh okay maybe that’s the case but I, I have nothing to proof this claim, I thought that this behaviour is something new. Because in older versions I could group text and occlusion and both would disappear simultaneously. But maybe that’s just an other 2 a.m Anki grinding thought xD
