Internet connection?

i have this error when i install anki for the first time:

It may work if you download the latest launcher.

The launcher tries to read https://pypi.org/pypi/aqt/json. Are you able to open it in your web browser? Do you use a proxy to access the internet?

I get the same issue, and verified that I can access the page it’s trying to access as suggested above. Any suggestions for further troubleshooting? I was attempting an update to install an add-on tool. Thank you.

@mgs1968 it would be helpful if you could post back on the GitHub link with some more info, such as the output of “set” in cmd.exe. Some similar reports online talk about problems happening if SSLKEYLOGFILE is set, for example.
