Hello. I’m running Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon, and wanted to install Anki. I installed the version in Mint’s software manager, but that was outdated due to not supporting Anki’s new timezones.
I installed the current version on Anki’s website, but that requires glibc 2.36+ to run, and apparently Mint uses an older version. I looked into how to upgrade my glibc, but it turns out that is a Very Important bit of software I shouldn’t mess with.
I turned to the flatpak version, but attempting to install it threw up an error that the connection was improperly terminated when I tried to start downloading it, both via terminal and direct download of .flatpakref. I assume this is because it’s no longer being maintained, as a bit of snooping shows that it’s not actually maintained by the Anki team.
Is there a version of Anki that will run on Linux Mint, am I just missing something incredibly obvious to people who actually know what they’re doing?
