Suggestion
Make the “Reschedule cards on change” not add a review to each card’s revlog (like the FSRS helper addon).
Also, make it a checkbox instead of a toggle!!!
Motivation
I noticed that there is a significant number of cards in my kanji deck (whose DR is currently 90%, while previously it was higher; as high as 97%) that were scheduled way too far:
(See the titles of the screenshots)
I mostly use my phone, so this suggestion would make my life easier.

What does the helper do instead? Does it change every review entry in the revlog, so that it doesn’t represent the past study sessions anymore (as in: the data that the revlog contained in the past and the data that it contains after rescheduling is different)?
They do serve the same purpose, no? What is the advantage of a checkbox over a toggle?
I don’t know.
A toggle is confusing as you’d think that it’d stay enabled after you leave the screen (see for example Issue with reschedule cards on change not saving on ipad and Reddit - The heart of the internet). A checkbox feels more temporary in my opinion.
Edit: even better would be to have a popup appear upon pressing the optimize button with options like this:
- Optimize all presets.
- Reschedule cards on change.
- Check health when optimizing (slow).

The helper add-on doesn’t change (or add to) the revlog at all. It just changes the value of interval and due date in the card.

In that case I wonder why the native / current approach of using a new revlog entry had been chosen in the past. Maybe because the FSRS helper addon is causing a discrepancy in the data?
E.g. last reviewed on 2026-03-01 with interval 11 days should be due 2026-03-12, but with the helper after rescheduling it might be due 2026-03-20 without any indication in the data itself.
Or due to the extra “custom data” added to the cards? Maybe that causes significantly bigger collection sizes?
Yes, this was the reason for adding a new revlog. But, there is no significant downside of having such a discrepancy in the data.

For those interested, here’s a prior post that further explains the difference between Ankis current rescheduling and the rescheduling that the FSRS Helper Addon uses: Using FSRS Helper to reschedule cards.
