Import using audio files

Hey Anki users. (Great app btw)

I downloaded Anki and the pre-made deck from English to Tamil phrases is useful.

However, I need to do it with 1000 Tamil words that are prioritized on their common usage.

I need to set up in a card that:

  1. English word is given

  2. when flipped, Tamil word with tamil alphabet is given and also with it’s Tamil word with regular English alphabet

  3. the pronunciation sound of Tamil word is also given( biggest problem, but I see in pre made deck is done very well!)

If you have any idea on how to practically do this. I can ask ai to prepare CSV to import, but audio files?

Thanks in advance :folded_hands:

You posted this in the AnkiDroid category – are you asking only about AnkiDroid?

Yes correct

The method for importing a text/CSV file to create notes is the same on AnkiDroid as it is on desktop Anki – Text Files - Anki Manual .

That page explains how to refer to your audio files in your notes, and where to put your audio files so the app can see them. The main difference on AnkiDroid is that most users can’t access the collection.media folder directly from within the Android device. You will need to connect your device to a computer via USB, and copy your media files into the right location. In your device storage, you’ll be looking for /Android/data/com.ichi2.anki/files/AnkiDroid/collection.media.
