From my side, no problem. I really appreciate you working on this.

Wow kudos @krmanik for such lightening fast implementation! Appreciate it!
@dae In this PR request I saw that @krmanik has implemented the code and you said you’ll look into it after the launch of 24.04 update.
I know you’re the soul behind this project and I may not know much about this stuff but if it’s okay with you I’d like to add my two cents.
Since this is a fairly simple change which has already been implemented and a new update is just around the corner, wouldn’t it be more reasonable to merge this PR now rather than wait for another 2-3 months for next update. This small fix wouldbe quite useful to everyone.
Again this is just my suggestion, you’re the boss.
Thank you!
Adding new features properly takes time, and involves not just writing code, but also reviewing changes, discussing design decisions, and then testing across multiple stages. This is both from a coding and design standpoint. Even small changes can have a major impact on the user experience, and walking changes back is not always easily done. This is particularly true for any changes that involve default card templates. So rushing things is not good for Anki’s health in the long run.
With that said, I don’t see any reason why a change like this couldn’t land in a point update (e.g. 24.04.1), and I’m sure that’s what @dae meant. So it’s more in the realm of weeks rather than months. Considering that image occlusion went over ten years without highlighting revealed answers, I think that’s OK.
Still no beta
I think these things take a bit of time.
Also, everyone who is contributing is doing it in their spare time. We should be patient.
Still there’s no harm in inquiring for the current status.
It looks like the feature is available in the new beta - Anki 24.04.2 Beta
