Hi all, I’m building Alkas. It’s a free wildlife learning app that can export decks to Anki.
In Alkas, you can build a deck from 1 million species across the world, filter by region and taxon, add species you’ve observed, and study with photos and bird calls. You can also import from iNaturalist or an eBird CSV. You can study in Alkas or export your decks as an .apkg.
I made it because premade nature decks are often huge, hard to adapt to a specific region or season, and building a personal deck from scratch takes a while.
I’d love any kind of feedback, but especially from people interested in exporting to Anki. I prefer studying in Alkas so that’s where I’ve done most of my testing.
It’s at https://alkas.app (sorry, can’t post links for some reason)
