To be clear I’m an add-ons developer (just an Anki geek), not the AnkiDroid or official Anki developer.
Briefly, the Anki ecosystem looks like this
- Anki for desktop : Developed by official Anki and volunteers. (Free)
- AnkiMobile (iOS) : This is a paid app developed by official Anki ($25).
- AnkiDroid (Android) : Developed by volunteers. (Free)
- Add-ons (desktop) : Tools to extend Anki, anyone can develop freely.
- AnkiWeb (browser) : This is a free server provided by the official Anki.
So the reason why AnkiDroid developers block users like OP is simple, they are volunteers and their time is the most precious, so they must get rid of all the elements that interfere with their development.
Bug reports are helpful, but eager urging, demanding, and persuading are the most obtrusive, so it is reasonable to ignore such requests or put them at the end of the task list. (Unless they do, there will be more of such demands)
If you want to force them to do such requests, you must pay them to do so (or watch a lot of ads like youtube), that is why the job of programming still exists.
