How to make Fast Word Query 3 work?

I downloaded the latest release (3.6) and made a folder named 1956435337 in addons21 and extracted the files.

Followed all the steps of the manual and changed the dicts to Cambridge and oxford for different fields.
Now when I use it, it shows success 1 but no information is added

Does anyone here have any clue on how to make it work?
Or am I missing something?

Fast Word Query 3 broken the search functions, it is complicated so difficult to repair.

I support that addon.
It’s just an upgrade of the original addon to make it working in Anki 24.x.x.
However, if you give more detailed steps how to reproduce the error (better with screenshots), I can take a look and maybe fix the problem.

Wow you developer, thanks for fixing this add-on.

I had a request from another user to fix this add-on, it seems that many search options are not working : reddit comment

So far I can only confirm that 3 of them work, the rest are not working.
(though maybe I’m using the wrong search method?)

So I thought web scraping might be failing, if so, those are a lot of them and I am thinking it is difficult. (I don’t know exactly because I haven’t looked into the code.)
There is no error report. Is it working correctly on your device?

Youdao, dict[.]cn are working maybe other chinese dicts too idk.
But none of the English Dictionaries are working.
If possible can you try to fix cambridge english?

I am sorry for poking again @aleks_ya, but it’s been around 2 weeks and I’ve been wondering if you found the same error or maybe this addon is just un-fixable now?

IMO development usually takes about a few months to 6 months or more, so if the reply is within 3 months it’s pretty fast, within a year it’s normal, over 2 years it’s a bit slow.

Hi @BhaturaGuy , I took a look at the sources 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately, fixing this addon will take significant time (I’m not its author, just fixed obvious problems to make it working on Anki 24.x). This time I’m focused on developing my another addon. Sorry, I can’t promise when I’ll fix Fast Word Query.
