Recently anki added image occlusion and auto advance. Those features used to be standalone addons for years.
What changed for them to be added.
Anki’s architecture has been slowly moving towards a shared core, so we can implement a feature once and have it available on both computer and mobile clients. I/O arrived thanks in large part to the hard work of @krmanik. Auto advance is something the mobile clients already had, so it made sense to add it to the computer version too, and unify the settings.
