So I’ve been using Anki for a while now, but I have been using it the wrong way. I mean it’s helped with memorizing things, but I feel like with the right adjustments, It would be much more beneficial. Anyways I’ve just been taking my school notes and creating Clozed cards out of them, With my notes I have to know/memorize a lot of lists, So I’ve just been copying those lists and putting them in a card regardless of how long they are. What I’ve been reading is, it’s not good to have really long cards, the shorter the better? So with that being said how would I go about splitting these notes up into multiple cards instead of just one card. I am going to post a picture of what my notes look like and any insight on it would be great!
Identify content that is worthwhile/necessary to remember. Formulate questions you have to answer, e.g. (I haven’t checked if the statement is correct):
Q: What is the leading cause of death for young Americans?
A: traumatic head injury
Q: What is a major modifiable risk factor for accidents with head injury?
A: alcohol consumption
Just putting your lecture notes into individual cloze questions might not be as helpful as you hope: you might only remember the information in the context of the specific cloze type Anki card. (This is a highly subjective judgement from reading your lecture notes.)
