Gestures work when they shouldn't

I have encountered this issue on both a new Samsung S25 Ultra, and an old OnePlus 5: When you set a gesture to only work when the answer is shown, it will still work when the question is being shown.

Example: I set right swipe as “good”, but only when the answer is show. Right swiping when the question is shown will still register and reveal the answer. Conversely, assigning a gesture to only work when the question is shown will also still register when the answer is shown.

This is fixed in the new study screen.

I had no idea there even where developer options like the new study screen to enable in Anki. Thanks for the tip, I’ll check it out!

If you join the beta or download an alpha release, you’ll get a more polished version of the new study screen.
