Fullscreen mode does not work correctly in AnkiDroid

Despite enabling the setting “Hide the system bars and answer buttons” interface elements remain visible on close cards when the keyboard is active.

Also, these elements appear when other app windows are opened.

Any ideas what the problem might be and how to fix it?

Just wait patiently for the new study screen (or join the alpha and enable it). It doesn’t have this issue on my device at least.
