"FRSR Parameter Priority: Main Deck vs. Sub-Deck in Inconsistent Presets"

When there is a sub-deck under a main deck, and the FRS data preset of the main deck and sub-deck are inconsistent, if the user clicks to study the main deck, will the card parameters follow the FRSR parameters of the main deck or those of the sub-deck?

The subdeck – if that’s where the card is located.

FSRS parameters, desired retention, and most of the rest of the Deck Options are applied based on the deck the card is actually in.

According to your theory, if I review the main deck for a sufficient amount of time and then click to optimize all parameters, only the FRSR parameters of the sub-deck should change, while the FRSR parameters of the main deck should remain unchanged. Will this actually happen?

According to your theory, suppose I have multiple sub-decks under a parent deck, and I set individual presets for each sub-deck. If I study within the parent deck, will the forgetting time for cards in different sub-decks follow the parameters of the sub-deck they belong to? Do I need to disable the FRSR algorithm for the parent deck?

It doesn’t matter which deck you choose to study from—whether it’s a parent deck, a sub-deck, or even a filtered deck. Each card’s parameters are determined by the specific deck it belongs to. Even if the parent deck is empty or each sub-deck has a different preset, the cards will always be evaluated according to the settings of the deck they reside in.

So, if there’s a conflict in the FRS data presets between a main deck and a sub-deck, and you choose to study from the main deck, each card will still follow the FRS parameters of the sub-deck it is a part of, not the main deck.
