hi. I edited a bunch of audio files I use in my Anki notes but did not change their names. it looks like Anki does not sync edited files with the same name to Ankiweb. what’s the best way to get the state of the files on Ankiweb to match the local state?
Yes, that’s expected. Anki doesn’t rescan all of your media with every sync, because that would be enormous overhead. Syncing with AnkiWeb - Anki Manual
To force a rescan, you can –
- Add or remove a file from your
collection.media. [A fine opportunity to run Check Media make sure you’re cleaning up your unused media!] - Log out of AnkiWeb syncing (Preferences > Syncing) and then click “Sync” to log in again.
