Force load balancing with lots of unbalanced reviews

Dear community,

I am using Anki 24.11 with FSRS to learn vocabulary and I have several decks for that purpose. Here’s the problem: I have rather larg decks with thousands of cards, that I started to review again a couple of weeks ago after a long break. Now what happened is that the review cards are extremely concentrated. Basically it’s a couple thousand cards becoming due within a week, then 2-3 months (the upper limit) nothing at all.

I’ve been looking for a “load balancer” or any manual mean to at least reset and even out the reviews once manually. Or alternatively to have daily reviews of the oldest cards even when they’re not due, in order to get back to an even review load eventually.

Do you know if there is any feature or other way for me to achieve this? I have searched this forum, Google, and Reddit for hours now but found no solution to this problem (sorry if I still missed something somewhere).

Anki now includes a built-in load balancer so it is doing that for you. For something more aggressive, check out FSRS helper add-on. There was the flatten feature in it.

This! Whatever Anki does automatically apparently wasn’t enought to clean up my mess. But the FSRS Helper worked like a charm, thank you!
