Fcitx5 works for typing in Japanese pretty much everywhere, but not in Anki (either installed through Flatpak or through the usual method in their website).
Any potential solutions to this? I already tried to add
“export GTK_IM_MODULE=fcitx5
export QT_IM_MODULE=fcitx5
export XMODIFIERS=@im=fcitx5” to “~/.xprofile” – to no avail.
(I am using Fedora 42 in the KDE Plasma desktop environment – not any version of Windows).
Ibus (with Anthy as an input method for Japanese) doesn’t work either).
I have anthy installed on my debian trixie machine (which runs Gnome). I installed anki from the official website.
Typing japanese works flawlessly for me. Maybe it’s related to kde? Try to create a new user, install anki and your japanese input system there and check if it works; if it does work, then it’s somehow related to your current linux user account.
