Is there any way to flip the answer bar position near instantaneously/with a single tap? When studying on Android I frequently change my position/how I hold my tablet, so the best place to put the bar changes too. Having to go into the menu each time I want to do this is annoying. I don’t see anything in the options, and was thinking maybe there is a way to do it with a custom user action?
I get the feeling it’s not really possible at the moment, so is this perhaps something that could be entertained as a future addition? I know not every little preference can be catered to (lest feature creep get out of control) and this is 100% a ‘selfish’ request, but it can’t hurt to ask…

No, but if you mean the positions of the answer buttons, then you can use gestures instead.
Btw, you can’t change the positions of the answer buttons in the new study screen afaik. That feature will be gone when the old study screen is removed.
That’s really disappointing. That, in conjunction with the preview that seemingly can’t be turned off while editing cards (unless I’m missing it in the settings?) really makes me want to roll back. I assume the only way to do this is uninstall the Google Play version and install via alternate means?
The split editor might become optional in a future update.
If you roll back, you’d be missing out on so many features, improvements, and bug fixes… just for having buttons at the top! I recommend trying out the gestures; they’re superior anyway.
But if you insist, yes, afaik you’d have to uninstall the Google Play version and install one of the old releases linked below. Of course, make sure to export your collection with media and store the file in a safe place before uninstalling.
You could also add buttons to card templates that would mirror the functionality of “show answer” and rate buttons and customize them in any way you’d like.
