Error message after attempting Anki Update

I need help ASAP with navigating this error message. There was an update for one of the add-ons, and I do not know how to bypass this message. Would uninstalling Anki delete my Anki cards? Thank you for any help, as I am not the most tech-savvy person.

An important note about updating to 26.05 (and later)

The upgrade feature in launcher-based versions (25.07 to 25.09.4) cannot be used to upgrade to 26.05 due to packaging changes. I downloaded a second Anki application, but now it has the same update message. Would clicking yes download lead to another error message loop?

If you have 26.05 installed now, you’re done with the launcher (your screenshot above) – so you won’t hit any error loops from that. But since you’re using macOS – there may be other issues that came from the security fixes in the current 26.09 builds. You’ll probably be happier waiting a day or so for the 26.09.3 patch release.
