I am having trouble syncing from my MacBook Pro via the Anki app.

It says “Error details: error sending request for url ()”.

That means your device isn’t able to reach AnkiWeb’s servers. See: Error establishing a secure connection when syncing - Anki FAQs . When you’re checking for things that might be getting in the way, don’t overlook things like iCloud Private Relay, which is basically a VPN.
