Duplicate check not working on AnkiWeb (still works on iPhone)

Hi! I’m running into an issue with duplicate checking on AnkiWeb. It used to work fine up until last week, but sometime this week it stopped catching duplicates on AnkiWeb. The same deck still flags duplicates correctly on my iPhone app.

When I add what should be a duplicate on AnkiWeb, it does not flag it:

On my iPhone, the duplicate check does trigger as expected:

What I’ve checked

1. No invisible/zero-width characters
2. Only one deck involved
3. Note type is the same (basic)

Could anyone help me resolve this issue? I have this problem both on Chrome and Edge. Thanks in advance!

I’m able to reproduce this – duplicate checking doesn’t work on AnkiWeb. I’ll have to take your word for it that it worked before, because I’ve never tried it.

@dae will respond when he gets a chance and let us know if he’s made any changes to the site.

Thanks for checking and confirming the current behavior on AnkiWeb. For context: I primarily add cards via AnkiWeb (and review on iPhone), so I’m confident duplicate checking was working on AnkiWeb until early this week, specifically Monday or Tuesday. Since then, AnkiWeb no longer flags duplicates, while the iPhone app still does.

I don’t think AnkiWeb has ever supported this, so I’m turning it into a suggestion.
