Possibly really overthinking things here but just a thought I’m curious about. I have been deleting my leeches rather than just suspending them. I also have a rather low leech threshold of 4. So in other words fsrs doesn’t see any cards with more than 3 lapses or any leeches when optimizing. Could this mess up its calculations in any way?
There is no difference. In both cases, your reviews on such cards do not affect optimization.

The above is true only if you suspend your leeches. If the leeches are tagged instead (and not suspended), then yes, deleting them will affect FSRS since data is now missing.
