Creating a writable textfield that persists when showing the answer

hello. i would like to add an answerbox to the front of my cards that persists when revealing the backside, to compare the two.

i know that type in the answer exists as a note type, and i also know about the typebox plugin, but these automate the ‘comparison’ part of it, which i dont want cause i screws up the formatting of the decks that i have downloaded. basically, i dont want anything smart, i just want a box to write some text in so my cards are a little more interactive

is there a native way to do this, or some other extension that just isn’t as easy to find as the multiline textbox extention?

If on the backside you show the Field once again, would that be okay?
I use this as a workaround when there might be formatting in the type field which doesn’t get displayed when you answer.

If it is the case that the type of formatting is always the same (say they are always a MathJax equation), I suppose creating the formatting (MathJax in this case) in the card template itself would work.

If you just want to get the text, which is typed into an input box, on the back side, you can do it with javascript without add-ons. Here is a card template example: Front template Back template I have tested the card template on Anki PC(2.1.38), AnkiDroid, and AnkiWeb. FYI, it might be better to use anki-persistence for data persistence between front and back.
