There is still no update in Debian sid (unstable) since April last year.
And the Debian maintainers said, that they have too much work to do to get a newer version than Anki 2.1.15 in the next releases of Debian. They are also talking about some big load of work because of your switch to rust programming language.

Could you do that work. So we users will see an up to date package in the upcoming Debian 11 (Bullseye) release and further Ubuntu versions?
Or could you make some packages for debian backports?
