I’m really struggling with importing a deck from Ankiapp and not sure what’s going wrong. I’ve tried downloading the deck from ankiapp and ankiapp online (on chrome) and nothing enables me to successfully import it.
When I try import the .zip version it says this:
Import failed. Debugging info:
“There is no item named ‘collection.anki2’ in the archive”
When I try the document version downloaded from Ankiapp web it says:
Selected file was not in UTF-8 format. Please see the importing section of the manual.
The .html version is the only one that anki seems to be able to open, but when i get to this point, no cards are actually imported to anki.
You should use Tools > Copycat Importer > Import from AnkiApp to import from AnkiApp. Importing from files is no longer supported. You have to log in to your AnkiApp account from that screen.
Hey, ive been trying for the past hour to import the flashcards from anki app to the normal anki on a mac. however it hasn’t given me the option to import like everyone else! i go to tools press on copycat importer then nothing happens?

What’s the error you’re getting? AnkiPro is having major issues right now (probably data loss) and this add-on can’t help much in this case, unfortunately.

I shouldn’t be surprised they did something like that again – but it’s particularly awful for them to take the time to do it when their users have been suffering through their server meltdown for a week.
Hi, I don’t know if anyone’s going to see this, but it’s worth a shot. I have my Medical school finals in 2 weeks, and have used AnkiPro for all of my notes throughout the year. I have been in a horrid panic for the last 10 days trying to restore my cards hoping and praying the situation will get fixed soon, but clearly there is no light at the end of this tunnel. When I try to use the copycat converter, it just comes up with a youtube video of a song??? Could anyone possibly have ay advice? I’m willing to pay just to get these cards back, the rest of my life and career depends on these exams.

Buenas, yo también fui víctima de la estafa, no sabía que ankipro no formaba parte de la oficial y ahora, tras estos días sin conexión he descubierto todo y quiero pasarme a anki cuanto antes pero estoy teniendo problemas con la importación de ankipro a anki, he intenta con el complemento ‘Copycat importer’ pero no ocurre nada sólo un mensaje de ‘0 tarjetas importadas’
la única solución que he encontrado es ir descargando cada mazo en ofc y convertirlo a apkg, lo cual al tener muchos mazos es muy lento, y si lo hago con varios a la vez no me salen ordenados en submazos si no todos mezclados. Además tenía muchas imágenes con partes tapadas y esas se me han importado sin ninguna oclusión, ni puedo editarlas de nuevo para añadir las partes que deben ir ocluidas, no se si me explico…¿hay alguna solución para importarlo de forma eficiente y que se mantenga el formato de las oclusiones así como la organización mazo-submazo? Además se me pierden tarjetas durante la importación…
Si alguien tiene alguna otra solución que funcione mejor estaría muy agradecida.
@monkeypigeonImporting of “AnkiPro Library” decks is not supported. The decks are actually just copied from https://ankiweb.net/shared/decks so you can search for them there and download then import into Anki.
@Otuky Regarding image occlusion cards and deck groups, the add-on doesn’t support that yet. If you’re willing to share your account with me privately I might be able to update the add-on to add support.
@abdo I was actually referring to my own cards (when I said pre-existing decks I meant on my actual anki), but I have realised now because they are in folders so I just moved the necessary decks out of folders and its worked now. Sorry for the misunderstanding, but thank you so much for your help and the quick response!
