Confirmed bug: Browser shows card front as answer

Hello!

I’m reporting here a bug, originally posted in the AnkiDroid project bug tracker.

I’ve originally found the bug in the Android version, but it happens the same on the Desktop version.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Create a “Basic (type in)” card, with “front” as front text, and “back” as back text
  2. On Windows: open the browser and add the Answer column (it’s not present by default); on Android: just open the Card browser (Android)

Expected Result

The card should show “front” as Question, and “back” as Answer

Actual Result

The card shows “front” both as Question and Answer

This is a result of {{type:…}} fields not being included. You can work around it by adjusting the browser appearance in the card templates screen.
