Every card I create goes to a different folder than the one pretended. What can I do to fix it please?
There are a few things that you might be talking about –
- In the Add Note window, are you selecting the Deck (on the right) where you want the cards to be created? Adding/Editing - Anki Manual
- Is the Add Note window opening with the wrong Deck selected?
- Does your note type create multiple cards for each note, and are they going into separate decks?
- yes, of course I am selecting the right Deck I want to save my new Card.
- no, it opens the right Deck but once I save it it doesn’t go to the Deck I chose but to one called “Predetermined” (I didn’t pick this name, Anki did. I don’t have a Deck called Predetermined). I should say that what I just described only happens when I create a “Basic-c88be” Card. It goes to the right Deck if the card created was “Basic (and reversed card)”, but in this case I’ll have two cards saved instead of one: the first with the “front” showing first and the second card which the “back” showing first, if you know what I mean. However, this is not what I intended since when I study I just want to see the FRONT and then the BACK with the answer. I don’t want to see the BACK of the card.
- I hope I gave you enough details to solve this case. Thank you very much.
“Basic-c88be” is a note type that you imported with a shared deck, which means it could be different than the default “Basic” note type in any number of ways. It sounds like that deck author set a Deck Override for that note type to assign its card to another deck.
To avoid that, you can – (a) switch to using the default “Basic” note type instead – Notes > Change Note Type, or (b) turn off the Deck Override – Cards … > Options.
