Cant log in(sync) to my computer version

I have a macbook pro 2010 running Mac OS X 10.8.5.

I’ve had Anki on my computer for a few years and it works perfect however it is not linked(synced) with my personal account - that it when i log into ankiweb it appears as i have no decks or cards.

upon trying to sync the app withing my computer i get the following message:

Syncing failed:

What should i do??
keep in mind that i’m trying at all costs to run a late mac os version(10.8.5) as it is equipped with my computer hardware.
if i do need to upgrade my anki version which is the latest that works with this mac os??

thanks

I’m afraid macOS 10.10 or later is required to sync with AnkiWeb, as older Anki versions were built with tools that do not support modern web protocols.
