I downloaded an Anki update on my Mac (M1 MBPro running OS15.7.1). When I then try to open Anki I get the terminal window shown below and no Anki.
Can anyone offer any suggestions? (I’ve been running Anki for many years on many Macs and have never had an issue like this before.)

Ok. Help me understand this. Why in all my years of using anki have I never seen a terminal screen and now all the sudden, I see a terminal screen when I first launch anki after an upgrade. What changed?
The packager/installer Anki had been using was no longer being supported and needed to be replaced. You’re seeing it for the first time because this is the first time you’ve upgraded since July when this launcher was released. After this initial install, you’ll be able to upgrade/downgrade from within Anki.
