Anki is making me go crazy- cloze

Probably because the notetype you’re using is not a cloze notetype. Clozes only work on special notetypes (i.e. the default “Cloze” one and types cloned from it). You can solve the issue by converting the notes to use the Cloze type from Notes > Change Note Type in the browser.
