I’ve resolved my issue enough that its only a minor UI problem, but still wonder if anyone knows more:
I’m creating a custom deck of chinese phrases I find useful, with Zhuyin/Bopomofo ruby text. However, the character for Unicode “bopomofo letter i” displays as a vertical line in the Anki UI. This is definitely a font issue, as I can copy the character out of Anki and into e.g. chrome/firefox and it’ll display correctly. I’ve found I can fix this in the study display by configuring the style to include a CJK fallback font, but I can’t fix it in e.g. the browse and note edit views. This may partially also be a MacOS problem: If I copy it into the Notes app, it displays correctly with the default system font, but if I select other fonts, about 50% of them will show the incorrect symbol.
Is there any way to get it displayed correctly throughout the app?
