Audio cut off at end with Macos Monterey 12.3.1

Hello,
I have a Mac M1 and Anki 2.1.51 (and 2.1.49) and when I upgraded to Monterey 12.3.1 the audio cuts off at the end with bluetooth headphones (Airpod Pros and SoundCore). It works normally with the computer speakers.

It also works normally with the Anki iPhone app and the same headphones.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Playing lots of short audio clips over bluetooth headphones can be problematic, and some users experience similar issues when reviewing with AnkiMobile on iOS as well. You could try playing some music in the background quietly - that may help keep the connection open/prevent it from cutting off. If that doesn’t help, I’m afraid you may need to switch to wired earphones instead.

Hi Damien,
I’ve used Anki for Macos with bluetooth headphones for years, without a detracting delay or stutter, so I’m blaming the new Macos for now. I’ll try the quiet music trick next. Then, off to buy some cheap wired earphones until this goes away with a future Mac update.

Thanks as always for the great product. I’ve been using Anki for 6+ years, and at this point it’s become a second brain.

Update. The quiet music trick seems to work. Thanks!
