The space bar shows the back of the card. The “Answer keys” I chose are not working. Default 1 2 3 4 is not working either.
Am I missing something?
Those ones won’t work because you happen to have chosen keys that are already hard-coded to other primary functionality –
A opens the Add-note window.
S jumps to the Study screen for the selected deck.
D jumps to the main Decks list.
F opens the pop-up to create a Filtered deck.
If you choose things that aren’t already used, you’ll have better luck! If you want to see what is available, you can go to the back of a card in a study session and try them.
Those won’t work anymore because you’ve changed them to something else in this screen.

Thank you for the answer. The nice thing about left hand home row is that it is a very neutral hand position on the keyboard. Is there a way to disable or change the other primary functionality assigned to those keys?
You can try the “Customize Keyboard Shortcuts” add-on – but those are such foundational/universal shortcuts in the app, I’m not certain whether they are editable by add-on.
