I’m considering purchasing an E-ink device and I’d like to be able to run AnkiDroid with a popup dictionary. I currently use AnkiDroid to revise Japanese on my Samsung Galaxy phone, and when I highlight words, the popup toolbar allows me to search the word in the dictionary without having to leave the AnkiDroid application. This is incredibly convenient, and I’d like to be able to do something similar on whatever E-ink device I purchase. I particularly like the look of the Onyx Boox Note Air 3c, but I haven’t been able to find out whether it has this feature or not, and there isn’t a store nearby where I can try it out. I’m wondering if there’s anyone who uses AnkiDroid on an E-ink device that has the functionality I’m looking for.

Hi, I have a Boox Note Air3 (BW version) – I tried using Ankidroid for a while but the ghosting was too much of an issue for me to bear. However, Boox devices run android, so to me any functionality that exists on your galaxy exists on eink too – I can access my j-dicts from a highlight as well (just booted this to check).

Did you try the ‘safe display’ mode in our Advanced Settings?
