Many of my friends and I experience eye fatigue from prolonged screen use, and we would love the ability to study with AnkiWeb on our Kindles. Kindle’s E Ink display is perfect for reducing strain during extended learning sessions, but unfortunately, AnkiWeb is no longer supported due to a past update.
Given that Kindle is the most popular ereader, I believe many users would benefit if AnkiWeb were made compatible again. I’ve seen popular posts from years prior requesting this feature as well.
Is there any way to bring back a compatible format for AnkiWeb on the Kindle experimental browser? Even a lightweight or simplified version would be incredibly helpful for those of us who rely on Kindle for focused, distraction-free study.
Small web app I built with copilot specifically for the Kindle’s experimental browser. It runs a headless copy of real Anki in the background and syncs with AnkiWeb, so you keep editing decks in the desktop app as usual and they just show up on the Kindle. The UI is deliberately stripped down (no JS frameworks, no emoji, full page loads).
Caveats: you need somewhere to run Docker (home server, cheap VPS). Tested on a Paperwhite 11th gen. It’s a hobby project, but it works day-to-day for me.
